Rockabilly and fiighting for my honor!!

Last night Joel and I went to a concert! It was fantastic. I really enjoyed it but went not knowing the band or what to expect but that was the fun part. So we get there fashionably late with a great table being held for us. Joel;s best friend (and best man at the wedding) is well known in Boise.. he gets "special" treatment... anywho... so we get there and the opening "Sukey" band is playing and the front man sucks. He is a terrible singer and is gyrating in very annoying ways... and then he proceeds to shove the microphone in his mouth and make monkey noises. Is this really art? And then he slaps his stomach and i see that around he navel tattoo he has a hernia... NOT ATTRACTIVE... i see this because of course he takes off his shirt. Luckily they only play for a little while and during this little while he again sticks the microphone in his mouth and makes raptor noises... sounded a lot like the monkey but he was doing bird arm motions this time... the worst part that pissed almost everyone off who knew anything is that he used a Spinal Tap quote in vain... Smell the Glove... not cool man, not cool..

the next band comes on ,"The Horrorpops" the front girl is awesome.. has great hair and is playing a huge upright base... very cool. She has an awesome dark, sultry voice... I liked them a lot... so i forgot about the monkey man before...
But then the band who we came to see came on stage... The Reverend Horton Heat. Rockabilly... for sure... he looked like he came straight out of 1950... He was cool... and I approved. So we went out to the patio for a bit and there were many people mostly guys who looked like they came straight out of A Rebel Without A Cause... or Grease... it was kinda funny/sad/interesting... in fact some even had their cigarettes rolled up in their white t-shirt sleeves. Very funny.

So like I said earlier.. there was a table saved for us... and this guy sat in my seat... so I gave him the evil eye and made him move.. but instead of moving he just slightly move over... so i was touching his arse the whole time... I did not stay silent instead i complained loudly and he turned around and started yelling at me... well that almost started a big fight with Issac (joel's best friend) and the other guy... it was close... OOPS.. i have learned to be quite in situations like that.... don't start fights...
But over all it was a fun night... . a new experience, I like those... but over all a lot of fun

Chris and the elk

Today Joel and I went wedding band shopping. I had already gotten his, but we wanted to pick mine out together... so we went to the same shop he bought my engagement ring at. We walk in and IMMEDETALY a sales man comes up to us and greets us with his sly smile... and asks us if we wanted anything to drink.. coffee, soda, water? We went for water. we walk around and he proceeds to be male and tell me that of course i want diamonds... maybe i do.. but don't tell me what to do... but he was nice so i was nice back... this random sales girls comes around and gives us carrot cake... Joel and i both detest carrot cake... but we slowly ate it to be nice!! As we are looking around at the rings we become fast BFFs with Chris. we tell him that we have a budget so what does he do, takes us straight to the most expensive part of the shop. He puts on a ring on my finger and I look at the price tag and I yell ( a little too loud) "holy Hannah!" and say "Christopher, I said we have a budget." and give him the ring back. we go over the side... the cheaper side and find a nice ring.. as we were purchasing the ring Chris told us he was talking to his co-worker about when he was young he didn't have any girlfriends so instead he gave himself hickeys with his mom's vacuum cleaner. His co-worker laughed and Chris said "don't laugh, it was an upright!"
just beautiful... you will all see it at the wedding.

And then to pass the time as they were cleaning my engagement ring we went into a furniture store... just to pretend that we could afford such lavish things... and we made a bet to see how long it would take to have a sales person accost us... it took 3 minutes and I won... any way we did an excellent job pretending that we could not only afford this furniture but that we were looking to buy it as well... and then for some reason not sure how we got on the subject ... but she proceeded to tell us about her elk hunting experiences, yeah seriously she did... and how she didn't like it too much and she won't go again... anyway we stayed in there for a long time making fun of the furniture we would never buy and then finally we left... but not with out her giving us her business card and asking us to ask for her when we come back in... oh the lies we tell..
you know... the experiences i have... they are like from book.. i should write one

Aren't we beautiful

So we have so much to say... so much. But first I wanted to show you our picture!! Joel and I went to a wedding yesterday. It was nice, but I didn't know any of the people there so I didn't really have any emotional attachment. But one taboo I did was I wore white. Yeah I didn't think about it and I brought a white dress... but I didn't have anything else to wear.. so me and the bride wore white...
I am now officially not a resident of Arizona. Its sad really. Of course I am so glad to be with Joel and we have been having so much fun!! its been so great to be with him everyday. But I am must say that I am really missing my friends. But the great thing is that I had such a good time with them. And i got to say goodbye to them all.
The day before we left we spent dinner with my really good friend Vanessa and her husband. They are such a great couple and Vanessa and I became really good friends while I was in AZ. And hopefully those two will come and visit us next year!! That will be fun.
I miss Dara a lot... I miss talking with her and hanging out.. we have so much fun together. But Joel is a good substitute.
Yesterday Joel and I went to a wedding... I didn't know any of these people so there was no emotional attachment to the wedding.. I did get osme ideas more or less what I wold like to do differently.. but we got to take some pictures.. and let me tell you we are a beutiful couple. But the bad thing is that I wore white.. I iddn't think about it as I packed this dress for the wdding. And as I was getting dressed I thought.. Oh crap I can't wear white.. btu I had nothing else.. so the bride and myself were the only ones wearing white.

A fun day in Preskit

So the real city name is Prescott, but people here in Scottsdale pronounce it Prescit... why you ask? I don't know, ask them... So Dara and I drove up to Prescott on Saturday and had a wonderful day. First off it was a real town, normal people both badly dressed and badly groomed. It was great, normal people. And also it was 80 degrees there... a normal temp. Not 115... yeah it was almost 115 yesterday can you believe it? So anyway, whenever Dara and I get together we have such a great time, but it seems that odd things happen to us. we attract drama i think. We decided to go sit in the wonderfully soft grass of the Prescott central park, where the grass does not actually stab you in the arse. So we sit down and this guy is walking two dogs that look just like Sandy, so cute and brings back good memories. The dogs were actually walking him at one point i thought his shoulder was going to be dislocated. Anyway, so of course he comes over to us and starts to talk to us.. this guy is like 40 and has braces on his top teeth... and his wearing a fanny pack. We start talking about the nice weather and he says " Yes, its nice to come up here and have a break from the heat. We are from Phoenix." And when he walks away, we figure out that when he said We he did not mean him and his wife, or gay lover or even mom... but him and his dogs... sad. So then we look off to the distance and see him do this... Dara is going to demonstrate how he took pictures.. The bend

After about 10 minutes of laughing we had to go our separate ways, i was going to talk with Joel and she was going to go shoe shopping. I was sitting on a park bench waiting for Joel to call and looking often at my phone making sure it was working... and starting to get embarrassed that I as looking at my phone so often... then I get a text message...and i think oh its Joel... and the message it from Dara... it said " I see U" how creepy. Seriously I was a little scared and not sure where she was. but I didn't want to look around because I knew she would be somewhere watching me look around frantically and laughing hysterically at me. Finally i see at as street corner, bending over with laughter.. all by herself.. she looked silly but she did beat me!!
And because we thought it was such a great day... i mean a GRAND day, we litterally ended the day with a high five... and here is what it looked like

I tell you what... though sometimes creepy.. she is a great friend. And I am going to miss her so much. I will have to say good bye to her tomorrow.
But guess what? Joel comes tonight. I am so excited... and then we leave AZ on Wednesday morning. How great...

High five on pillow hands

Yesterday was a busy day of running around in a rental car :
And boy was that fun. A cheap car with cheap insides. Oh well what do I care I have my Corolla to come back to!!
So story numero uno: I was at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car and I walk in with two huge over-stuffed garbage bags full of clothes (i was going to the Goodwill) and walk up to the counter and this guy comes up. I say "I am here to pick up a car" He says "Whoa, first things first... Welcome to Enterprise, (shakes my hand) my name is Rick*." I kind of look at him funny and I say "My name is Adriel, and I need a car." And then it was business as usual with Rick. There by the way are way too many employees behind the counter seriously like 4 or 5 and ME the only customer... it was weird they didn't have anything to do.
So we get outside, inspect the beauty which is my rental car and then it happened. The most movie moment I think I have had in a long time. I still cannot believe how good God's sense of humor is!! So we get to the curb and he is about to give me the keys and he says, "Alright we are done here, here are your keys. Alright, HIGH FIVE." and he puts his hand up to give me a high five.
Sadly I leave him hanging for a what must seem 10 minutes because I am in shock that this actually just happened. That this is real. I sort of shake my head and give him a high five. And let me tell you those were definent pillow hands. So surreal.

bowling for bad food

Okay so not for bad food but not the best. My bible study girls and I went out to dinner and bowling for the last time tonight. It was sad as I have spent almost every Wednesday with these girls for the last year and half. I have shared with them and they have shared with me. God truly blessed me with these women and I have learned a lot from them. And I will miss them a lot. But one thing i learned for sure is that we all suck at bowling!!

Look at the HOT cankles in those bowling shoes... nice stuff!!

So I will miss my Bible study girls so much, but hey I know I will see them again someday.. and Carrie maybe sooner as she is moving to Minnesota!!
ps. as i spell checked my blog the spell checker did NOT recognize CANKLES as a word.. how dare it. so I made it learn the word being that the word plagues my dreams.

a man's job

I do not consider myself a weak person.. but I do know that there are jobs for men out there and jobs for women... for instance.. changing my air conditioning vent is a job for a man. Seriously something I shouldn't have to do.. I am okay to admit that. Its a huge 2 foot long door on top of the ceiling that swings towards you and has ONE MILLION screws.. its ridiculous.. but as a good house keeper I know I have to change this vent every once in a while.. so I went out and bought some and coerced my dear friend Dara into helping me change it... (with my fantastic chocolate chip cookies and some great strawberry lemonade.

this is her finishing the last of the screws..
But finally after a huge struggle we did it and now the air conditioner is running like new.
Happy 4th every body..

dress pick up and dealing with stupid people

Okay today was a busy day for Adriel...
I drove all the way to Sedona to pick up my beautiful wedding dress... did not see any wild fires.. and luckily my wedding dress did not burn up in the fire!! It was nice to see Sandy and Ed and my dress fits perfectly, looks great... see

just kidding folks its just the bag it sits in, you cannot see it until the day. but let me tell you BEAUTIFUL.
So the drive up and down were uneventful but fun. I love that drive, lonely though I started to talk to myself because I was bored.
And then I had to get my car estimated because some one hit my rear bumper... Just a small little dent but hey it needs to be fixed. And then off to the and where I was supposed to pick up my new bank card after I had to cancel all my cards. But of course the only good customer service person at the bank who could help me wasn't there (not the only person.. but I am being dramatic) so Stupid helped me instead. She was snotty (see Naarah its terrible where ever we go) and she didn't have a CLUE of what I was talking about and tried to make me feel stupid by her comments. I looked at her with my famous (infamous?) evil eye and said... "tell Nicole to call em when she gets it in,s he knows what I am talking about." and I walked out. HOnestly, I can't even get good customer service at the Bank.
Anyway, the second a many goodbyes happened tonight. I had to say goodbye to my good friend Beth who I used to work with at the Dr. office. She is great and I will miss her!!

Superman and drawn out goodbyes

So I told Adria I would blog everyday.. Well I didn't yesterday. So I will make up for it today.
Yesterday I got to talk with Joel. That was wonderful. He is back from Bosnia. And getting ready to have the last week of the school. IT was great to talk with him again!!
So finally after many weeks of anticipation Herman Stanley is gone. No not DEAD.. Just gone out of my life. A friend came to pick him up and move him to another home. I don't think he will last long.. He is already a year old and has a tumor.. And no one can take as good of care of him as me.

I had to throw him into a ziplock back and say good bye to him forever.

Look how empty the table is that he used to occupy.

SO its the end of an era.
I saw Superman last night. Very good, very good, and kept my attention the whole time. I highly recommend it.
Oh and some very exciting and new news.. Joel and I have decided to go to San Francisco for our honeymoon. And we are going to drive up to the wine country and hang out in Northern California. We just bought our plane tickets. And we have been praying for the money for this honeymoon being that we are selves don't have any... And some missionary friends of Joel gave us $500 for our honeymoon. Isn't that amazing. God is so good, He always provides. So we have money for our plane tickets!! its so great.

In n Out

So in honor of Adria again.. I had my favorite fast food it was declious. i love In n Out.

So I had a very dramatic morning, why you ask? Well I got up and checked my email like usual and I got this email from Amazon.com saying that my email address and password was successfully changed. Wait a second... hold that train I did not want to change my password. So I am groggy and confused. And then I get a second email saying that my purchase of
"Arthritis and Allied Conditions: A Textbook of Rheumatology (Two Volume Set)" was successful. Wait again mr.Amazon I did not buy a book on Arthritis. So I again freak out. I start to call my bank and make sure these charges on my account are not posting.. and well stupid anwsered and did not get it.. So I hung up... I was panicking okay.. After about two hours on the phone with very friendly and helpful Amazon people, I got my account sorted... And I had to cancel all my credit cards and bank cards. Nice.. Right before I leave the Valley. Oh yeah and this guy ( I am assumig its a guy... I don't know why) is from Turkey.. Yeah seriously.. And he bought a Bob Dylan CD.. So cliche. Now the drama is over and problems solved.. But remember every so often clear out the cookies on your computer... Its a good idea...
