So we just left Minnesota! We had a fabulous time there! Joel was able to shoot at things (mainly huge squirrels!) It sounds odd but Joel had wanted to shoot and hunt or something while we were in the States! So dad gave him the job of shooting the massive squirrels in his yard! Joel loved the challenge! I did not shoot things but instead was able to spend quality time with the parents and watch them enjoy Violet.
Our daughter is such a pleasant baby, and she is getting more so every day. She smiles at everyone and goes to people who want to hold her. She very easy going and does not make a fuss about much. She also is napping better which is a blessing for me!! Mom and dad really enjoyed Violet and loved playing with her and getting to know her a bit. Mom struggled with putting her down to sleep, but after many tried Violet finally slept with mom on our last day with them!
We had a few milestones happen at mom and dad's! Violet started sitting up all by herself, without any assistance. She still falls over sometimes, but she can right herself pretty well. Even when you try to push her over she rights herself, she is like a Webble.... webbles wobble but they don't fall down!! Also we fed her food for the first time. The first night we fed her just rice cereal, she made a face that was like what the heck..but then ate a bit..maybe a few teaspoons. And then the next night we were at the Miller's (Sarah Miller is my best friend who has a 7 month old boy called Mason) and we tried sweet potatoes, Violet loved it and ate a bunch. She is getting so big and hopefully will eat more and more real food!!
We really wanted to go swimming but unfortunately there was a lot of wind and it was not warm enough until the last day! Joel was able to swim and even use the slide, but momma and Violet did not get to swim. The weather was just too cold for Violet to swim and I tired to swim, I was even in my suit and up to my butt in water and violet started screaming and panicking because of all the noise so I had to get out!! Oh well!
This trip to the States was our best ever! We had a such a fantastic time at each place we went! Our families got to meet our little girl and see how wonderful she is! And we got to relax and see lots and lots of family and friends! God really, really blessed us with a great trip! Its nice to be home, but we do miss everyone! Although we are really really over travelling for a while... in total we had 8 flights, and we visited 4 States and stayed in 5 homes all together! ENOUGH is ENOUGH people!!
