Do not disturb

Joel and I all weekend worked on our angry faces... so we could create our do not disturb sign... here they are!

would you disturb us? I didn't think so. Posted by Picasa

Tidal Waves of Changes

Some people fear change, some people see change as a challenge, some people just don't change. Joel and I are beginning a change..major changes that I find a challenge and something to be very excited about, Joel sees it that way to but with a hint of fear... but luckily we are in it together and have God who is with us and behind us.
From the very start when Joel and I started praying about me moving to England and working with YWAM again I sensed major changes God had in store for YWAM Brighton. That would then provide room for major leaps and bounds for us to succeed and see God move. I felt major changes happening in the ministry we do, the people we reach out to, people we work with, the focus of the base, but mostly I saw change in our vision. I saw God putting the leadership into Joel's very capable hands and then changing the vision to suit our talents, gifts, passions and dreams. God does not change but His people are changing, growing, moving people...so to use us He changes our hearts, visions, passions, views, roles in order to meet the needs of those around us, so we are affective/effective.
I am excited, I am nervous, but most of all I am faith filled. I know without a shadow of a doubt that God will come through, He will provide all that we need in this place, we will not fail. I can feel God's heart beat, I can feel His energy for this place. I know He has some much for us, to give us as a good Father would. He has the people we need, the staff we need in order to function properly, the church people we need to work with, the students we need in order to run our training schools. He has it all.. in His loving hands... and we ask for them.. we ask for them all. Ask and you will receive.
I ask for prayer, I ask for you to pray for us, Joel and I as we seek God for our next step, prayer for our vision, that we do NOT take our eyes off Jesus... that we are setting our eyes on things above! Prayer for strength for the hard things we must do in order for us to move forward. Pray for people's hearts, that the hard things we must do, they will not be hurt but instead hear God and know its of Him. Because we are serving the same God, working for the SAME GOAL, why can't we do it in unity but maybe differently... it can work, we (I) have to let my pride lay down.. the ugly dingy coat I wear called my pride and walk forward in the Light, let the Light warm my body, warm my heart, warm my soul instead of the ugly unsatisfying self sufficiency that leaves my bones shivering.
So I put my trust in Jesus, in His promises, in His goodness of the cross, in His love for me... I put my trust in Him!
This morning I raed the most amazing verse.. something that is still resounding in my heart and ears..
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:13-14

our flat being made nice

Joel got really frustrated with the mess we had in the kitchen when we first got there... he is showing it to the camera.
This is actually a "cleaner" version of what we moved into, it was horrible...

Spider solitaire and no Internet

Five days, count them 5 days we had no phone and no Internet! Darn this technology. I tell you what I felt useless and powerless without the good 'ol WWW and then no phone either. And so to pass the time, I didn't read, no I didn't instead I played Spider Solitaire... and Free Cell!! LOVE IT
I am for sure a slave to my generation!
But now, as you can see it is working thanks to Joel and his wonderful "rewiring" skills!
I looked every where in this town for thank you cards, and seriously could not find any!! NONE, so alas, i must make my own. But do not worry my faithful readers, you will get yours soon!Hopefully very soon!
Tonight we have open mic night, and in honor of September 11th, we are going to play (well, Joel is... I don't play any instruments) a song to remember the day by. He hasn't told me what song, but it shall be good. And it will be good to see Robin again! He is great, and so much fun!!
Also, as I just remembered, its Joel and my 1st month anniversary... cool... very cool!!
love you

Oh chest of drawers why tease us so?

Here is the story of a set of three friends and the chest of drawers.

Joel

my good friend Becky

and myself

We were innocently walking to Blockbuster to rent a movie, when Joel and I spotted this beautiful chest of drawers that was just sitting of the sidewalk calling to us to take it home. So we said, if its there when we get back we will carry it home to our flat. It was the perfect color, perfect size, everything was going as planned. Then we were walking back from the store of "Rental Madness" (that is their advertising slogan!) when we saw it there. Begging us to take it off the cold hard concrete. It was too heavy for us to carry ourselves so Joel said he will bring his luggage cart back to carry it home. Becky and I were happy with this because then we didn't have to carry anything big!! So Joel goes off to get our brand new FREE furniture. But what does he do? Comes back EMPTY handed!! So I yell out the window,"where is she? Where is the chest of drawers?" He said, "People were moving in, it was there because they were moving it into their flat!!"
Oh the tragedy. That would have been embarrassing, us running away with some-one's new chest of drawers. But now to our defense.... it was just sitting there on the ground with no note or anything, no one was around to claim it. And it was sitting there for at least an hour... we had time to not only go to the house of "RENTAL MADNESS" but argue about what movie to rent, then decide, walk back to our flat, then have Joel walk back.... i tell you what... we should have all three lifted it... it would have been ours!!
