Christmas in America part 2

Merry Christmas Everyone,

I hope this Christmas Eve, has been so far pleasant for you all.
So Joel and I have been in Idaho for the last two weeks and really enjoying ourselves. We have been able to spend time with his parents and friends. Its been so far good times.
We got to spend one day with Naarah and her amazing family early in our trip and we got to take some great photos... the only thing is that I forgot our camera charger back at home so we had to use our camera phone..but they are still fun photos.
For the last two days its been snowing here in Boise and we are having a white Christmas. A lovely gift from God to Jack ... because he has never had a white Christmas before!! So we took a video of Joel and him having a short snowball fight.... but now the sun is out and its melting, but its a beautiful sight that's for sure.

That darn Gnome

Well after finding the Gnome Gorden creepily sleeping in our bed with a bottle of Port (well done Emily) we decided to one up her... and him..

He is taking his smoke break...
this is joel climbing out Emily's window to place the Gnome on the roof...
the bad thing is that he is still out there... and its been raining really hard lately... Gordy will do anything for a smoke i guess.
and do not worry they are not our cigarettes... a friend left them at our house.

Thanksgiving

This year we wanted to go big or go home.......well not really but you would have thought that this was our attitude going into the holiday!
Last year we had friends over to share this day with and we wanted to continue that tradition. This year though, we had 34 people come to our party! it was lovely and so much fun.
We started cooking and baking on Wednesday and prepared most of our food. I made fresh pies, the crusts and everything, Joel brined the turkey and got it ready to cook the next day.. it was so much fun. Our house mates helped do a great job decorating and with dessert!! It was a lovely family event! We have decided that next year we will have to invite less people, because we didn't have enough chairs or plates... but we did have plenty of food!

Guy Fawkes Night

I know that its already December but I don't think I have told you about our Guy Fawkes Night (or better called Bonfire night) Well Bonfire night is a night to celebrate the burning of a man who tried to bomb parliament like 1 million years ago (more like hundreds)
And we went to the largest bonfire night in all of England. It was amazing and so much fun. They had 6 different parades and each parade had their own HUGE bonfire night at the end of the evening. And when I say huge...i mean the size of a house huge... NO exaggerate at all.. the size of Ma and Pa's house.. they are all huge.
But more about these parades.. you may thing oh a parade fun... nice time..well you would be thinking wrong.. these parades were so loud and annoying i almost lost my hearing. See in these parades they would have these people walking around with a barrels with little explosives inside of them to replicate the guy who tired to bomb parliament with gun powder...these parade walkers who just light them off whenever they would feel like it..and it seemed to be always next to us! Oh yeah and then each parade had their own amazing firework display!!

It was annoying... but the bonfire was fun and the company we were with was great.
A couple from Arizona that I met when i lived there came over to London for they 2nd year anniversary and spent a day with Joel and I! It was so great to see them, and we got to show them a huge part of English culture that night as well.
(ps. this happened on November 5th...sorry for the delay) here are some pictures from that night.

this was the start of the bonfire..hwhen they first lit it.

these parade people are some of the ones wiht the barrels of loudness.

I lost my glove.. it was a cold night.

it was really, really loud
again some of the people who had the loud noise makers.
