I found something off in my beans on toast.

The casualty of war

So our new housemate Emily is studying at Brighton University for Art and she brought home a HUGE bag full of army men: Joel went CRAZY...
this is what war looks like people...

Just a bag of soldiers... so sad.

So then he started looking at the men and saying how they are from different time periods so he will have to separate them...

A long time coming...

The little doll Joel

So a few years ago Joel's sister and a friend made a action figure sized version of my now husband Joel... here he is in all of his glory.
there he is... and my toe.. and thats all you will see of me that day because the other picture of me I look fat... and we can't have that now can we.

And a few weeks ago Joel, little Joel and myself went up to Holmsted to teach on their staff training week on what it means to be a DTS staff member. It was really cool, and really fun to teach with Joel.no no this is big version Joel.
this is little joel and our friend Luke... little Joel was showing Luke his trapeze talents.

Prayer Meeting ( its a little long just to warn you)

Our Bible study was elected to run our church's monthly prayer meeting. It was amazing.. God totally showed up... the Holy Spirit lead our friend Andrew into a song of the Be-Attitudes (Matthew 5) it was awesome.

The fun part of Scotland

I didn't bring my charger for our camera, so it ran out of batteries...so I had to use someone's pictures for all of this....
So on to the funny part of our trip to Scotland...........
We were next to a city called Largs (pronounced just like it looks folks) And the weekend after we arrived was the start of a Viking Festival! When we heard of this we thought.. vikings oh cool. Well Joel was super pumped because he thinks he is part Viking so to be able to see them in the flesh was cool to him. We had planned to leave really early in the morning on Saturday (I don't know why, I didn't plan the trip.) We get to the city of Largs, and its cold, rainy and windy. And we take a look at the Viking Festival that hasn't started yet because it was so frickin early and this is what we find... a small, small little bit of field roped off called the:And it costs one pound to get in.. so i say heck no, we won't go.. and we go and a get a coffee. And throughout this freezing morning I am starting to notice a lot of people wearing country western shirts, and cowboy hats, and boots... and I think weird... why would they be wearing that we
re in Scotland.
And then I see on my way to get warm a little stand where they are selling rubber duckies for charity, as they are doing a rubber ducky race down the really, really, really rocky stream... and I buy one.. and pray that I win a prize. We watch the race and of couse I don't win.. hey its okay, its for the children right!! So Joel, a friend and I go and have lunch. The pub we eat at is FULL of people wearing country western dress.. and I just am at a loss.. I mean its the Viking Festival! I hear a woman ask why people are dressed like country music stars, and the bar maid says that its country western weekend.... Oh okay thats just an odd mix... and then we hear a lot of commotion outside and a parade starts right outside of where we are eating... in the procession of people there are (in this order) A 1970 old car, bagpipers, Colonial dressed people, Vikings, and Cheerleaders!
It was wonderfully random... and then an hour later we were getting ready to leave, but not before watching the reenactment of a battle of the Scots vs. the Vikings... but this is what we got to see instead...
yeah it was an amazingly bad day

Scotland

Joel and I went to Scotland in August for a two week training conference. We took our staff member Anna with us. The training conference was for young leaders who have been in YWAM less then 5 years. Joel and I were on the leadership team of the leadership school... it was a very cool time. The conference was for people to begin to ask God what dreams and visions He has for them in ministry. What type of avenue does He want them to go down. So the whole week we spent talking about dreams, visions, mission statemnts, and walking out your dream and what it looks like day to day.
God spoke to me a lot during the two weeks, about His promises, His goodness and how He will always provide what we need. Since Joel and I have been struggling financially it was good to hear that God will provide for us, He has called us here to Brighton, He WILL provide all of our needs.
I am writing a newsletter about our time there in Scotland so I don't want to say too much more. But I got two really cool scriptures from Isaiah that God told me as a promise and I would like you to read them and pray them over us when ever you think of it. Isaiah 43:18-19 and Isaiah 45:1-3

The beach that the YWAM Base is at in Scotland. (called Seamill)
This is the YWAM Seamill Base, it was an old convalescent home.

This was us making bread, seeing how God molds us, forms us, and lets us grow... it was a really cool exercise about how we grow in God... interesting

Airshow

Joel and his friend went to an airshow a few weeks ago! They did manly things like kick the tires on planes and stood next to big machinery.... here are some pictures of that adventure.and the funniest thing is that they flew a commercial jet over the crowd really low.. it was strange ... well so joel said i was not there.

Baking Bread

To save us money, I have been baking bread every week. Its so much fun and my goodness is my bread good!! I love it, it saves us money and its healthier for us!! fun times. So the other day i was baking some bread and i had one runt loaf and one good loaf... they look like bum cheeks though!!
