Scary Morris dancers

So England is a funny country with a lot of funny cultural traditions that I am coming to love and enjoy... but there is one that I still do not understand and still a bit scary to me..
According to ever accurate Wikipedia: A Morris dance is a form of English folk dance usually accompanied by music. It is based on rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures by a group of dancers. Implements such as sticks, swords, and handkerchiefs may also be wielded by the dancers. In a small number of dances for one or two men, steps are performed near and across a pair of clay tobacco pipes laid across each other on the floor. There are claims that English records of the Morris dance dating back to 1448 exist, but these are open to dispute.

Well we went to see these "dancers" on Sunday at a friend's residential park. I have seen Morris dancing before and they are always dressed the same way... white clothes head to toe draped in these colourful strips of fabric... and stray hats...
well my friend not this day..not this Sunday we came to the park and were greeted by these Morris dancers...

you cannot see them that well because frankly they scared me.. and i didn't want to get to close. But they were dressed in all black, faces painted black and smelled a bit... not sure why but it was surreal day that I do not want to repeat.

You should start a new festival or tradition. You could call it:
"a severe hasing of strange dancers in the park" This would be a quick beating by a croud of people who run in and pummel the strange dancers then run off.Of course, loud laughing would follow.
I would actually come to this new english tradition from America.
